BMW 5 Series Vehicles have experienced a considerable decrease in their selling price recently. This model has gone through a strong reduction in its selling price.
The selling price for BMW 5 Series cars has had a strong depreciation during the last 6 months we have studied. In July the average price per vehicle is Rs. 51.11 lakhs. During August the price went trough a strong deflation till Rs. 41.54 lakhs. The following two months (September, October) the selling price went through a devaluation of -8 percent in the average selling price compared to the previous two months analyzed. During the last couple of months, the average price has hardly changed, remaining the same going from Rs. 44.43 lakhs to Rs. 42.84 lakhs during November and December.
The average price for BMW 5 Series has had a strong rise in recent years. Between 2004 and 2012, the average price is Rs. 41.73 lakhs. There was a significant inflation of the average price in 2004 (Rs. 31 lakhs) moving up till (Rs. 72.17 lakhs)in 2012.
The graph that displays the price for BMW 5 Series cars according to their mileage shows that those cars within a mileage range of "100,000 - 200,000" are the ones with the lowest price. They are 25 % more affordable than the average price (Rs. 44.49 lakhs). Next with a price of Rs. 57.64 lakhs and a mileage range of "50,000 - 100,000" we would see the following vehicles. The mileage range for the most expensive cars is "less than 10,000". It is 56% more costly than the average market value followed by those vehicles with a mileage of "50,000 - 100,000" and a price of Rs. 57.64 lakhs.
The graph showing the average price for the fuel type for BMW 5 Series cars points out to "Diesel" as being the cheapest fuel type. It is 3 % less expensive than the average market price (Rs. 44.49 lakhs) followed by "Petrol" priced at Rs. 51.95 lakhs. On average the most expensive type of fuel is "Petrol". It´s price is 17 % higher than the average market price followed by "Diesel" which costs Rs. 43.36 lakhs.
